Abstract embroidery workshops

This series of workshops was a fresh take on embroidery and was designed to challenge the participants with a new modern perspective, whilst at the same time discovering the benefits and rhythm of stitch.

The activity was to combined collaged fabrics, found objects, mark making and stitching, to invent and create their own textiles.

The participants were encouraged to experiment with colour and texture, gaining experience in many new stitch techniques.

We upcycled a t-shirt, an old loved dress or a shirt.

These old pieces were brought back to life with new designs stitched on them.

We provided all the tools and materials necessary.
